About
Johanna is the owner of Rowan Therapy Practice and a board certified art therapist, a licensed professional counselor and a national certified counselor. She has been in private practice since 2001, working with individuals struggling with eating disorders, mood & anxiety disorders, loss & grief, chronic illness and survivors of trauma between the ages of 10 and 70.
Previously, she was the Director and Lead Clinician for The Light Program, an intensive outpatient eating disorder program. She has supported hundreds of women in eating disorder recovery while working at The Renfrew Center and Belmont Center for Comprehensive Treatment in their inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient programs. She has also worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia using art therapy to support children and families on the Oncology and Hematology units.
Johanna has served as a board member for the Pennsylvania Art Therapy Association. She devoted 18 years educating aspiring art therapists at Arcadia University as the Art Therapy Internship Coordinator and an Adjunct Professor. She currently offers clinical supervision for mental health professionals working to become Registered Art Therapists and/or Licensed Professional Counselors in the state of Pennsylvania. Her work as a supervisor was recognized by the Pennsylvania Art Therapy Association with the Outstanding Supervisor Award (2012). Throughout Johanna's clinical and academic endeavors she has presented at several conferences and facilitated multiple workshops in the United States.
